I have seen OCD affect my loved ones, and I know the difference treatment can make in a person's life. I take a compassionate, empathetic, and evidence-based approach to OCD therapy. Together, we'll create an individualized treatment plan that fits your needs best. Therapy can be challenging, and at times difficult, but I won't ask you to do anything that hasn't been shown through research to work. With treatment, recovery is possible! In addition to OCD, I specialize in treating ADHD, anxiety disorders, trauma/PTSD, and depression.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

Someone who was at one point very important to me had OCD, and that was when I was going to school for social work. Then, I wanted to be a therapist because I had a loss of a loved one to drugs. I really wanted to see people making actual changes in their life.

How I create a safe, supportive environment in therapy

There are things that are more difficult to talk about-things that certain providers are not familiar with. But with me, I can understand when something is coming from a place of OCD versus coming from a place of something else. So I let you know that even the hard things are safe to share. These intrusive thoughts aren't going to be misconstrued as you being a bad person. There's no judgment here.

My message to you if you're struggling right now

Sometimes, there is a lack of self-compassion because OCD is a disorder that targets that part of your brain that focuses on negative things and the things that you're fearful of. It targets things which naturally affect your self esteem. This can be very hard, but I've seen people progress right away in treatment. Once I've provided a small amount of education, you might start to understand how OCD is affecting you. You'll think, "I'm not a bad person because I had this intrusive thought that's terrible." That's a very rewarding moment when you can see someone starting to climb out of the hole.

What my Members say helps them feel comfortable with me

I'm easy to talk to-that's common feedback that I get. I'll tell you about myself when appropriate because I think that really helps you to relate to me as a human being rather than just a person on the other side of a computer screen or a therapist. Even with kids! I'm good at using language that kids understand rather than talking down to them. It's just showing kids the same respect we would show adults.

Good experience

I finally figured out how to write a review, and I want to take a moment to give Jason a huge shoutout. He has supported me through one of the toughest spirals I’ve ever experienced, offering not only guidance but also deep compassion and empathy throughout my journey. I was nervous when I first started therapy, but Jason quickly put me at ease with his genuine approach and the wealth of knowledge he’s shared. He has truly gone above and beyond. My life would be completely different without his guidance and I can’t thank him enough!
