About

As a therapist, I'm non-judgmental and empathic. I meet my members where they are. We will work together as collaborators to treat your OCD. I work from a natural-strengths approach—you are the expert on your OCD. You're helping me understand the barriers you've experienced and what you hope to accomplish in therapy. Outside of work, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, learning about different cultures, trying new foods, listening to music, and dancing.

Get to know Avarina London

From a very young age, I've always been sensitive toward the needs of others. Empathy and compassion continue to be at the forefront of how I build relationships with all who I encounter. I became a therapist to give back while being of service to others. Being supportive is something that comes naturally to me. I believe in treating people with warmth and respect. We are people first.

While working in the mental health field, providing education on areas such as OCD, I wanted to learn more. I believe specializing in OCD edifies and enriches not only the work done with our members but also their results.

Self-compassion, grief and loss, mindfulness, trauma, depression, and anxiety are my other areas of focus. I’m a lifelong learner and enjoy being well-informed to provide the best care to my members.

Before starting NOCD Therapy, you should know that one of the most difficult things is taking that first step. We will work together closely on your treatment. You'll discover that leaning into your own discomfort can bring peace. It may be challenging to develop the tolerance to sit with what we identify as distress. Therapy may feel overwhelming before you experience the calmness of the work done.

Remember, I'm meeting you where you are with no judgment. I’m here to listen and work with you. It takes time to feel comfortable sharing some thoughts while we build our rapport. I believe your confidence in sharing those thoughts will increase as we continue to collaborate. We can process and address those thoughts, regardless of how embarrassing or uncomfortable they may be.
