I've always gravitated to spaces where I can get to know people deeply and help them. I had the opportunity to work with children and teens in the foster care system. Later, I became a therapeutic foster parent myself. I helped these kids and my own adopted children work through the struggles and traumas of their past. During that process, I thrived by supporting parents and adults, and providing psychoeducation related to mental health, our bodies, and the impact of trauma.
I decided to specialize in OCD after working with many people who experienced OCD after trauma. I needed to understand the best way to help them manage their obsessions, which could be so distracting and consuming. I enjoyed the process of helping people feel empowered by ERP.
Trauma-related disorders, dissociative disorders, and eating disorders. I wanted to focus on these areas because of my own history and the lived experiences of children in foster care.
I will work hard to instill knowledge and empathy while walking you through the process of addressing your OCD symptoms.
