I've seen how powerful therapy is in my members' lives and in my own life. OCD is a difficult disorder and not well understood by people who don't have experience with it. This is a safe and judgment-free space. I'm here to support and teach, to encourage risk-taking, and to support members in pushing through the discomfort while practicing ERP. Progress is made outside of your comfort zone; in therapy, we spend a lot of time outside the comfort zone. But I'm here every step of the way.

Why I became a therapist

When I was 20, I had a major medical procedure done that the typical young adult won't ever have. As a result, I developed anxiety and began having frequent panic attacks. It was a very dark part of my life. I felt stuck, and I couldn't leave my house or do the things I used to. The person who got me out of that was my therapist at the time. She got me back to enjoying life, and that made me want to be a therapist.

My personal connection to OCD and mental health

I struggled with social anxiety growing up, and when I got to college, I made a point of becoming more open, meeting more people, and putting myself in situations I would've otherwise avoided. By doing that, I was able to develop into a person who felt very comfortable around others. I know firsthand what a difference it can make when you start challenging your anxiety, and I try to convey that to my Members.

What I want to help you see in yourself

You're stronger and more resilient than you might think. I think we, as human beings, underestimate our ability to handle discomfort and confront our fears. I'm hoping to help you find that courage that's already in you.

My message to you if you're struggling right now

I've experienced anxiety, panic, rumination, and looping thoughts that seem to get stuck. I know how difficult it can be to face those thoughts. But I also know it's possible to get better. Exposure and response prevention (ERP) treatment is really effective. I've seen it change people's lives, and there's so much evidence that supports its effectiveness. We're going to start slow, and you won't be alone. You'll have my support the whole time.
