He/Him
Licensed Therapist, MA, LCPC
About
Empathy and rapport come first, always. I may be an expert on OCD and ERP (Exposure and Response Prevention), but you're the expert on your lived experience. My intention is to help you effectively become your own therapist. Like any skill, ERP takes practice, but my goal is to help you achieve a lasting state of recovery. Think of it as going to the gym or practicing an instrument. My experience includes treating body-focused repetitive behaviors (BFRBs), hoarding, depression, bipolar, body dysmorphia, anxiety, phobias, trauma, queer-related issues, and substance use.

There have been some improvements since beginning therapy with Dan. Then, following Tuesday’s zoom session with Dan, Justice has been improving in leaps and bounds. He has only washed his hands once each time and with less frequency. He went in a 1/2 mile walk with our 2 dogs yesterday. When he came back, he had a big smile on his face, and said he was going to walk more because he had enjoyed it more than he thought he would have. He asked if he could just walk one way and call and if I could pick him up. Of course I said I would do that! I was so happy to see him outside again! Usually I had to go with him and he would only walk the length of our driveway, but if one of the dogs would pee, he would fo inside, so it was always 5 min. or less of outside time. He is concerned also with salmonella and we have lots of trees all around us as we are in a rural area. This concern kept him from being outdoors. But yesterday, Wednesday, he ended up walking 2 more miles and returned home without calling me to pick him up. He said”’That was fun, I’m going to take a shower”. We all were in disbelief, we usually had to plan taking turns trying to coax him into showering. He had taken one on Monday, and now he was announcing this on his own! I am so beyond thankful to Dan for his winning way with my son, Justice. These developments are a direct reflection of the right fit with a skilled therapist. We at our home are thrilled at his life coming back, and are so eager to see his continued growth! His sister asked him”Do you like your therapist?” He said, “I love him.” I just had to share our story and thank Dan for helping our son. With warm appreciation. Vicki

I have been doing a lot of therapy and Daniel by far is the most understanding and attentive therapist I've come into contact with. Selfishly I wish our sessions could be daily. He makes it so much easier to open up than most people do.

I’ve been living with OCD for 14 years and have seen my share of therapists- 5% good , 95% horrible. Daniel has been amazing getting me through covid and my pregnancy while having contamination ocd. He knows how to challenge me and has me doing exposures frequently. He knows how to start off small and build up to more intense exposures. I can talk to him about seemingly “irrational/taboo/frightening thoughts( that are embarrassing to talk about to people who do not have OCD) and he understands and knows how to challenge them BECAUSE he actually understands how the disorder behaves. He is knowledgeable and compassionate. NOCD truly are the experts in OCD treatment and I would 10/10 recommend to anyone looking for effective help.

Daniel is a great listener and always provides helpful advice. He takes the time to explain exactly what’s going on in my mind, how I’m holding on to compulsions and ERP exercises that I need to complete to get better
