She/Her
Licensed Therapist, LMHC
I started my career as an in-home therapist working with children, adolescents and their families, treating mainly behavioral depression and anxiety. I did ERP myself to treat a phobia, and I was blown away by how successful it was. I'm excited to share ERP with you. Outside of work, I enjoy cooking and spending time with family.

From personal experience, I know how others may not understand your OCD fears. But you can be honest with me; this is a judgment-free zone. I'm here as support, every step of the way. You're not doing this alone.
The lack of resources that I had, back in late high school and college, when I had my own struggles, made me want to become a therapist. I came to the US when I was 17 knowing zero English, and I couldn't find many Spanish-speaking specialists. It was really hard for me to communicate and find someone who spoke my language when I needed a therapist.
I had a phobia of reptiles. I never thought it was a problem. I thought, OK, let's just avoid them. But my family decided to move from New Jersey to Florida. I came for a couple of visits, but it was extremely difficult. I couldn't get out of the hotel. I needed to be carried with a towel on top of my face. I realized that was a big problem I needed to take care of before moving. I was already a therapist, so I did some ERP myself. I was just blown away by the success it had. I've been living here three years, working and going out and not stopping my life because of it. Don't get me wrong. I'm still scared. I talk to my members about it. It's better, but it's an ongoing thing. You've got to keep working on it. Because of my experience, I know how others may not understand your OCD fears. I know that for us, these fears feel like a big underworld.
My previous experience was mainly with children and adolescents. Anything behavioral: ADHD, family dynamics, depression.
One, it's going to be a challenging journey. But the journey you've been going through with OCD is even more challenging, with outcomes that are not beneficial. ERP is challenging, but eventually things get easier. You can get back to your life and your goals. Two, it's very action-based. We are going to talk, we are going to try to understand each other. But then there's a lot of action involved. I'm here as support, every step of the way. You're not doing this alone.
Open up and try to be as honest as you can, even if you don't want to share. This is a judgment-free zone. I'm not going to say I've heard it all—OCD is very tricky and sneaky—but a whole lot of OCD themes are familiar to me. If it's difficult to share in the beginning, let's work on building trust first and see where we go from there.
